Involuntary Vinyl

Helplessness Blues by Fleet Foxes is such a good album. It really is. In my personal opinion, I even hear a little Velvet Underground in it. Lyrically, it is genious. There are lyrics that I would never be able to think of. Mark of a great songwriter. My favorite line is from the song Sim Sala Bim, when he sings, “ruffled the fur of the collie ‘neath the table.” It’s just so good. Also, musically it is beautiful too. It is very chill but perfectly arranged in my opinion. I admit, Its probably something that you either like or you dont, but I sure as heck do.

“Nothing Is Wrong”- Dawes

I got my mom tickets to Alison Krauss and Union Station, and these guys were the opening band. They were amazing! I went down to the merch table in between sets and got their new album, “Nothing Is Wrong”, and I got to talk to them for a minute. they are very nice and very passionate about what they are doing. This album is a perfect mix of those upbeat feel-good songs but has some beautiful “ballads” mixed in. The song “If I Wanted Someone” and “So Well” are my personal favorites. Dawes’ lyrics, to me, are great and very relatable. Nothing too metaphorical and hard to follow. So check them out!
